Thanks, Bert. That was a good read, and I think the theory is solid. I love dancing, while my husband abhors it. I would ballroom dance and do the jitterbug or swing-style dancing with my gay friends, and it never bothered my hubby. He was happy that I was happy, and of course he had no reason to feel jealous!
To be honest, the reason my husband detests to dance is that dance lessons were sold on the premise that chicks dig it and that would get him dates. It never worked, for probably many reasons, notwithstanding the fact that in the late 70s and 80s, people were club dancing, not ballroom dancing, and he definitely *did not know how* to freeform dance!
But hey, he's an excellent musician with amazing abilities including improvisation, and it's part of what brought him and me together.
