Governments are by far the biggest polluters when you consider wars, militaries, government buildings being heated an cooled, commutes of government employees to and from work, and their travel at work.
Anyone who visits the Washington DC area can clearly see the federal government carbon footprint is huge, covering three states. It is enormous, buildings, bases, and traffic everywhere. A giant bee hive that produces nothing but regulations and rules for the rest of us. No wealth comes from there but trillions go out in spending, mainly to political friends and contributors.
We need smaller government not solutions for made up disasters that governments cause by their mere existience.

Great post (as always), Bert. The military (i.e. the United States government) contaminates everything. The problems at Camp Lejune seem symbolic of the poison that the military industrial complex has covered the planet with.
Of course, it's not simply the ruined water and Earth: there is the constant attack on decency and freedom that our government has been guilty of for decades. You might want to check out William Whitten's latest Substack.com offering "THE PLAN".
According to a guest on Russell Brand's new podcast, the Biden administration has ended the precedent of telling the suckers (the taxpayers) how much we are spending on the war against Russia that is currently being waged in Ukraine. It is estimated that the cost of our support for the Biden Crime Family is now $100 million dollars per day.
Yes, all true. The center of a planetary military industrial complex.
