The Cause is Corruption
Ever wonder why all of this is happening?
I would say that 95% of our politicians are corrupt and guilty of breaking some federal law. You can guess what laws and how much money they have made in the process.
Then you ask why all of this contrived mayhem and suffering for the masses? It all boils down to a leftist agenda. In all present and past leftist countries there has been no middle class only the have and the have nots. The party faithful and the rest of us. The wealth gap in America has widened severely. 900 billion in credit card debt among Americans.
These politicians come up with fake crisis after fake crisis. Killing people in the process while making big bucks for themselves, and their corporate masters. Step in the guilt factor.
They know they are guilty, so they become fearful of the truth and try to control the narrative by limiting and attacking free speech. In their paranoia, they also become control freaks, wanting to control and know everything about everybody.
This is why they are cozying up to the WEF and China, so they can install a Chinese model of government on all of us. The WEF meeting is in China this year instead of Davos.
What they lose in the process of amassing greater wealth and control over the rest of us, is a lesson in history. Name me one leftist style government that has become a lasting and viable entity over the last 200 years.
Governments do not create wealth, they only distribute it. Without a middle class to create wealth and consume products it is a recipe for disaster, and that is what is befalling us right now.

A hypothsis could be our corrupt gov't squandered all the money and now has to downsize the population in response, esp the boomers...

They are literally powerless without our complicity. If we all stood up and said NO MORE, they could send in the goons with their heavy-duty automated weapons and kill us all, but what good would that do them? They wouldn't have a slave class.
Their other, *better* option is to imprison everyone, and that is what they have been and are still doing with mind-control: Persuading people to mentally imprison THEMSELVES with the notions fed to them.
It is imperative, no matter what the wayward wizards attempt, that we remain full of courage.
