What Trump Is Missing
Taxation Without Representation
Trump states that he wants to drain the swamp and shrink the government. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but the facts will not let me. We are nearly $ 35 trillion in debt, and the interest on that debt is now $ 1.2 trillion per year.
The swamp is funded by debt and money printing, which causes inflation. Inflation is another form of taxation that is often considered abstract. It is a tax that nobody gets to vote on; it is forced upon us. It decreases our income and makes us poorer, because wage or benefit increases do not keep up with real inflation. I suspect that Trump is trying to grow the economy out of this debt trap, but the trap is too big, and the numbers do not add up.
We need to force the government to live within its own means, like we have to. No more deficit spending. The swamp is awash with cash and opportunities to enlarge itself. Until that changes, nothing else will, and it will only get worse.
Stop feeding the beast is the best solution. We could start with the Pentagon, which has lost well over 15 trillion dollars that is still unaccounted for. They have miserably failed the last three audits, and DOGE did not even look at their books.

Thanks, Bert. The question is HOW do we stop them? Are enough people willing to, for example, stop paying the government extortion fees that exist at every level, local, state, and federal? I doubt that will happen. What else can we do to force the enforcers?
At least the IMF are not threatening to ‘help’ as it is in France & the UK —both circling the drain. Your post is spot on. Servicing the interest on the debt alone is crippling.
