It is becoming increasingly difficult to buy anything with cash. Both of the grocery stores I visit have "credit card only" checkout lanes and this trend will continue.
On an almost unrelated subject, it would not be surprising if the government made crypto-currency illegal to own.
Great points, Bert. My husband and I use cash for *a lot* of transactions. I hate the invasiveness of banks, but at least our personal accounts are in a credit union, not a "big" bank. Although, these days, I'm hearing that the entire Matrix is now owned by Blackrock/Vanguard, and that is perhaps the reason why the UK witch is finally dead. I think there will be even more *interesting* revelations in this apocalypse. Ding dong.
I know it sounds weird, but this is kind of the most exciting time in all of human history (at least as far as the history we've been lied to about). But I try not to get giddy for too long, as it may distract from my ability to respond with righteous indignation at any given time.🪓🗡
Our bank is local and family owned, so I feel comfortable in dealing with them. I also worked for them for years and was treated like family. They made it thru the Great Depression and never got caught up in the derivatives in 2008. I trust them to a certain degree.
Cash is king with me whenever possible, but barter happens here too, mostly among neighbors helping neighbors. Welcome back from the road, glad you both got home safely.
Good article, Bert. We need to build a strong alternate economy!
Agreed, one where we decide what has value.

That is the end game to do away with cash. I figure as long as the black markets use cash the rest of us will too.
Agree with you on crypto, unless they figure out some way for the banks and the government to get their cut

Wishing you and your family well!

Those are important characteristics for a bank. We do some bartering as well.
We had an epic trip but, as you know, it's good to be home!
"There's no place like home" click your heels three times
