Great stuff Bert, and well found, thank you, as usual. Fab info which I can use in one of my Letters which are filling up bigtime with so much turmoil going on. Interesting times, they promised, yet now every day was a year back in the day!

I guess you never went (too young?) but I trained for Nam, but never went, thanks to my Great Creator! Those songs at the time might be appropriate for today?

Thank you, Peter. Most of what I post is food for thought and thinking outside the box. On certain things I do have strong opinions, but mainly tone that down to find common ground. Every once in a while, you find that common ground and it is like finding a five-ounce gold nugget.

I was in 71 to 74 and trained for war but never went over, they sent me to Fort Meyer at the Pentagon Support Group and later to Ft. Meade home of NSA, with a 90-day TDY to West Point. Did three one-year stints in the National Guard after that.

Those who serve seem to have a different perspective than most others.

So true Bert - "those who serve..." A valuable lesson for humanity. I learned how to work in a team, with comradeship and the support and love of my section's members. I then understood that the killing skills were subservient to that special bond within our platoon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z91-S37ihjk

Great movie I have watched several times. One of the best ever IMHO. Many people in my family experienced the horrors of war first hand. It seems that each of them left a piece of themselves back on those battlefields. They were and are damaged in their own ways that I see and have seen in them. Not to mention the damage to families.

War is a bad deal and there are few good guys in the starting, funding, and perpetuating of them. The same class of people benefit and the same class always suffers.

The banksters are always the only winners, Bert but this time might be different. A test will be the German conscription likely coming soon - I don't think Gen Z will fight.

I agree with that and think that is one of the reasons they bring in all those immigrants. Give them citizenship if they join the military and live to enjoy it afterward.
