I assume that because they are "illegal" they have jumped the gun on those slowly waiting for their turn after applying.

If you are looking for fairness then the gun jumpers should not be encouraged.

And such people encourage those profiteering from helping illegals.

However I do not like in the US so it is not my business really.

Here in NZ a drain on the economy is new immigrants being able to bring in their aged parents easily and thus clogging up the public health service and the pension fund and any other tax paid services which the new comers have not contributed to.

And they don't speak English so don't participate in society.

Well -articulated.

I had to apply for citenship via legal terms in the gulag/ country I currently reside in.

There needs to be one rule for all. Nuff said. .

What's not discussed is that this was never supposed to happen again after the 1986 Immigration reform act. President Reagan with Congress provided amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal aliens a large majority who later became permanent residents. That's why there shouldn't any new amnesty whatsoever, if they do there'll be 100 million illegal aliens in 20 years.

Excellent point. I do not like the amnesty part. I like them to get in line behind legal immigrants and wait their turn. Explaining that to them up front. Give them a time limit to apply and if the do not comply, back to where you came from.

Good perspective, Bert.

I would add that the only persons entering without ‘waiting in line’ who should be admitted are those with legitimate asylum status. That is not working well at present because of insufficient immigration courts. An attempt to address that was made by a Republican-written bipartisan bill in 2024. That bill died when Trump lobbied Republicans to not support it.

You can see how they are being used by the inaction of the Republican Party on this issue. They have all 3 branches under control and have done nothing to address this.

That is the absolute truth.
