We think the same way on this. My previous employers made masks mandatory and we ignored that. Then they floated the idea of the mandatory vax and half the staff threatened to quit, they backed down again, to their credit.

I am retired now and my new boss makes few demands in that regard. 😉

I won't necessarily break rules that result in fines or worse, but there are ways to avoid them legally. I didn't like the rule of wearing a mask but there wasn't a fine for that so no big deal. If there was a fine, I would avoid going in there. If the employer mandated a mask I would quit.
