To be fair, I remember Vietnam and none of us can forget Afghanistan. The USA is not a partner to be trusted and Obama's minister, the Reverend Wright, was right: the chickens are coming home to roost. Too many of our politicians consider public service nothing more than an opportunity to get their snouts in the trough. All too many are more allied politically with America's enemies than with what we fondly remember as the United States of America.
Dog gone it Bert, now you've reminded me of our illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq. It seems like the last time our government was on our side was eighty years ago.
They never win and we always lose the reason they call in foreign policy is because it is foreign to logic and common sense. Yet they keep doubling down.
It makes me laugh to hear the clowns in the State Department and the UN saying that diplomacy is the answer to everything. I am reminded of the First Barbary War, where Thomas Jefferson's marines were methodically destroying the Tripoli pirates and the State Department stepped in and prevented our victory.
Besides a "heart" emoji, Substack should offer a terrified face option for reactions to this one, Bert.
It get overwhelming. We have bad neighbors and trading partners who have turned against us.

Thank you Charles, I agree and remember all of their deadly errors.
